Energy & Climate

Description

Our Energy and Climate works to advance innovative solutions to climate change, and to promote the transition to economies that are low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive. To this end, we analyze the drivers, impact and possible responses to climate change and natural hazards as well as the synergies between energy policy and climate change. We promote energy efficiency and the use of energy from renewable sources and help governments and business measure and track climate progress. We also support work that aims to promote equitable and resilient energy systems, responsible energy industries, and pro-poor access to affordable, efficient and clean energy services.

Specific Issues

Climate change science, impacts, adaptation, low carbon transitioning, carbon pricing and energy finance; renewable energy; gender, poverty and security; energy use and efficiency, low emission development and
transportation; disaster risk reduction and management.
